How do I apply?
Applications for the Family Townhome Program must be completed at the CDA 's office located at 1228 Town Centre Drive , Eagan between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. To accommodate those who are unable to apply during these hours, the CDA is open the third Wednesday of each month until 7 p.m. For driving directions to the CDA 's office click here.
What information do I need to complete an application?
- Social Security Numbers for each household member
- Employment Information (Employer name & address, hourly wage & # of work hours/week)
- Other Sources of Income (amount and how often received)
- Bank Account (Bank name, address, account #, balance, interest rate)
- Other Asset Information (Type, account #, balance, interest rate/dividends)
- Child Care Expenses (Provider name, address and amount)
- Rental History (Names, addresses and phone numbers of current and three previous landlords)
- Utility Expenses (Company name, address and account #)
Is there an application fee?
There is no fee when you come into the CDA 's office to apply for the Family Townhome Program. However, when you are invited in to verify your application a $25 fee will be charged for processing your application. This fee covers the cost of ordering credit and criminal background reports to verify eligibility for the program.
How much is rent?
One-bedroom = $550
Two-bedroom = $600-$620
Three-bedroom = $650-$670
Rents are as of March 1, 2008 and are subject to change.
What utilities are or are not included with rent?
Included = water and trash removal
NOT Included = electricity, cable and gas
How much is the security deposit?
The security deposit is equal to one month's rent.

What does income preference mean?
Waiting list preference is given to families making between the minimum and preference income limits for the Family Townhome Program.
Can I use my Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher with this program?
Yes, you can use your Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher with the Family Townhome Program.
Do I have to live in Dakota County to apply?
No, you do not have to live in Dakota County to apply for the Family Townhome Program.
How many waiting lists can I choose?
You can choose as many waiting lists as you wish. You will be contacted by mail once your name reaches the top of a waiting list.
How long is the waiting list?
Waiting list length depends on location. Typically the wait is between 12 to 24 months.
Is there a playground or swimming pool?
All of the townhome developments have a tot lot for young children. Some of them also have a basketball court for older children and a gazebo picnic area.
Erin Place Townhomes in Eagan has access to an adjacent pool and clubhouse.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed.
Are there washers and dryers in the townhomes?
No, however, there are washer and dryer hook-ups available in each unit.
Are there garage door openers?
Yes, there are garage door openers.
Is there air conditioning in the townhomes?
Yes, there is central air conditioning in all of the townhome units. Residents are responsible for the electrical cost of using the air conditioning.
