Workforce Housing Program

The Workforce Housing Program is designed for moderate-income families with children under the age of 18 years. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements prior to becoming a resident of the program. This includes meeting program income guidelines, providing good landlord and credit references and passing a criminal history check.

Applications for the Workforce Housing Program must be completed at the CDA's office located at 1228 Town Centre Drive, Eagan between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. To accommodate those who are unable to apply during these hours, the CDA is open the third Tuesday of each month until 7 p.m.

Rents (as of March 2014)
One-bedroom townhome - $590
Two-bedroom townhome - $655
Three-bedroom townhome - $710

 

Applicants must also meet the following minimum income requirements:
1 bedroom applicants: $15,600
2 bedroom applicants: $17,760
3 bedroom applicants: $19,584

Preference is given to families making between the minimum and preference income limits.

Income limits and rents are subject to change.

Preference is given to applicants who currently live, work, are hired to work or go to school full-time in Dakota County and whose incomes are between the minimum and preference income limits for the program.

Locations
To date, the CDA has constructed 21 workforce townhome developments (694 units) located throughout Dakota County. Future developments are planned for Eagan, Inver Grove Heights and Lakeville.
