Workforce Family Townhome Housing

The Dakota County CDA created the Workforce Family Townhome Program in 1990 in response to the rising need for affordable housing for Dakota County’s workforce.

The Workforce Family Townhome Program is designed for moderate-income households. Units are located in nine of the major cities in Dakota County.

* Applications are being accepted for two- and three-bedroom units only. The one- and four-bedroom waiting lists are closed.

Two-bedroom waiting lists

      • Households with 2–4 people

Three-bedroom waiting lists

      • Households with 3–6 people

Additional requirements

    • At least one household member must be under age 18.
    • Households with 2 people may apply only for two-bedroom lists.
    • Households with 3 or 4 people may choose both two-bedroom and three-bedroom lists.
    • Households with 5 or 6 people may apply only for three-bedroom lists.

* There is a separate waiting list for households needing accessible units. It is the Workforce Housing Accessible Units list. Households needing a mobility accessible unit must indicate the need on the Accessibility needs portion of the online application. There are only one- and two-bedroom accessible units in the program and households do not need to have children under the age of 18 to apply for the accessible waiting list.

All workforce housing units are smoke-free.
